Gorilla Powdercoating has been doing research on adhesion for AAMA 2604, 2605 & up and coming 2606 specifications requirements for the past 10 years. Gorilla has taken a different approach to solving the cost issues associated with AAMA requirements.
Our Mission: first look at the surface, and what makes for the best adhesion base for the primer. Gorilla has come up with a unique profile utilizing a unique blast media under controlled condition. This process provides a predictable high performance adhesion base that is easily repeated in normal production conditions.
This process is applicable to Kynar Powders or High Performance Powder Coatings. The process and Media are Patent Pending under the name Gorilla Grip*. Currently, salt sprays have exceeded 7000 hours on aluminum at DuPont's laboratory.
This surface is not only predictable, it's also cost effective when compared to conventional chemical pretreatment.
Our goal is to provide an easily identified surface, visual with a simple microscope to confirm readiness. |

Coating Process: Gorilla Tough-Coat™ Powder Coating provides four different processes based on individual requirements and cost constraints.
Each process takes the cure to a 100% cross-link stage or full cure. This provides the best possible adhesion and durability that each powder can provide. (Powder performance varies from chemistry to chemistry).
We work with each project on an individual basis, for process conditions, powder selection, performance and cost.
